Principal's Message:
Dear Parents,
It does not seem possible that we are in the middle of May already. So much has been accomplished, but there is so much more to do.
~Sister Richardine
SPIRIT WEEK: This is the week the students love and you and I tolerate. I am glad that they enjoy it so much. If you need to know what is going on each day, the students brought home last week the schedule and the dress code for each day. There will be items for sale during spirit week. The games will begin each day at 1:00 pm.
LAST CALL - THE SHOPS AT MONTEBELLO: This is the last call to please register all your receipts from The Shops At Montebello by tomorrow, Tuesday, May 15th. Tuesday is the last day for our contest. I want to thank Mrs. Mendoza and Mrs. Zablan for all their work on this fundraiser.
GRADUATION PICTURES FOR EIGHTH GRADE: On Thursday, May 17th, the eighth graders must be at school by 7:25 am. Their Graduation picture will be taken at 7:45 am. If we wait any longer, the sun is too bright for a good picture. If you wish to order pictures, they will also have individual pictures taken after the class picture is taken. The envelopes are in your family envelope.
Girls must wear a nice dress and dress shoes. They should remember to bring the collar, the cap, and the tassel, also.
Boys must wear a long sleeve white shirt for school shirt with a dark color tie and dress shoes. Please make sure they remember their caps and tassels.
All eighth graders are to bring their PE clothes to school on Thursday.
JOG-A-THON: This will begin at 10:00 am on Friday, May 18th. Your money for the jog-a-thon must be in by May 17th in order for the students to participate in the jog-a-thon. There will be no regular hot lunch on that day. The students can purchase their lunch for May 18th this week, also, if they have not yet done so. The parents have been working hard to make this a nice day. I know all the children will enjoy it.
TRANSITIONAL KINDERGARTEN: We are going ahead with the Transitional Kindergarten for next year. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call or come in. If you know of someone interested, have them contact us. The tuition will be the same as the regular school tuition. Students will receive the family rate, if there are other siblings in the school.
YEARBOOK: Don’t forget to get your order in for the yearbook for your children. The books are all in color. It is a very happy keepsake for your children to look back on. The books are $30.00 each. We will have one day for students to sign the books.
PTO NOMINATIONS: We will be voting for a president and a secretary for the PTO Board for next year. Also, the position of a Publicity person is open. The nominations will be in your family envelope next week. Talk to people this week and give it some thought. Yes, it is a big job, but a very important job for the welfare of your school. The people holding these positions are to be commended for the outstanding service they are doing for the school. We all owe them our thanks.
BILLS: I have sent home bills that are past due in last week’s family envelope, and received very few responses. It is really necessary that these bills get taken care of. Some of them are big amounts, and it is affecting my bill payments. I expect an answer from all who had a letter attached to the bill. I do not want to have to take these bills to Small Claims Court, but it may be necessary for me to do so, in order to get the money. Thanks to those who came in with payments, and for these who talked to me about the bill. I have quite a few who have ignored the whole thing.
DAYCARE: We have been getting requests from parents asking us to waive the fee for daycare because parents picked up their student at 3:25 or 3:30 PM. I am sorry, but if your student was in daycare for 5 minutes or for the full 3 hours the fee is $10.00 per day per student. This fee applies to regular 3 PM dismissal days. I know that sometimes things happen but you should call the office and let us know.
PRAYERS REQUESTED:
For all of our St. Hilary School families.

(June 27 – July 27) We will be offering summer school again this year. Our summer program is very well attended by St. Hilary students, as well as many students from other schools. As you know, we will be reviewing the report card grades and attendance records of our students for the past 3 quarters. You may be receiving a notice which requires or recommends that your student comes to summer school. If you do not receive a notice, you may still send your student to our summer program.
